RESUMO
Introdução: O consumo de álcool e tabaco estão presentes em diversos contextos e realidades da sociedade. Não escolhe gênero, idade e tão pouco nível social, de tal forma se torna pertinente o estudo do uso de drogas durante o período gestacional, bem como os seus prejuízos para a gestante, feto e recém-nascido. Objetivo: fazer uma revisão bibliográfica, sobre os prejuízos para a mãe, feto e recém- -nascido decorrentes do uso de tabaco e álcool durante a gestação. Método: Realizou-se uma pesquisa de caráter bibliográfico. Resultados: Como fatores de risco foram identificados mulheres solteiras, adolescentes, baixa escolaridade, baixa renda ou desempregadas, e muitas vezes influenciadas pelo meio ambiente e mídia. Conclusões: as mulheres ao usarem as drogas tabaco e álcool na gravidez, podem prejudicar a saúde do feto e recém-nascidos, aumentando o risco de prematuridade, malformações congênitas, distúrbios comportamentais, disfunção no Sistema Nervoso Central (SNC), baixo peso/ altura e aborto espontâneo.
Introduction: The use of tobacco and alcohol consumption are present in various contexts and realities of society.
